The UK's largest independent distributor of EPoS hardware solutions, PCPOS based in Basingstoke,
has beaten IBM to win a major order from discount store group, BeWise. After nine months of
negotiations, the store which operates 160 outlets throughout the UK, opted for the PCPOS 'PoS
in a Box' solution after a side by side pilot site comparison trial with IBM.
BeWise Finance Director, Mark Fontaine said, " We were very impressed with the 'PoS in a Box'
solution in terms of its reliability, compact size, styling and cost of ownership. PCPOS's
ability to deliver the entire project within one month of us placing the order was also a
significant factor in our decision".
In partnership with Europe's largest EPoS integrator NSB, PCPOS put together a total of 518
systems in three configurations - for dedicated tills, for dedicated servers and combined
till/servers - to suit the range of Bewise stores. A full training service was implemented
by NSB. The PCPOS systems have replaced Riva Tills and will enable BeWise to provide more
efficient customer service and faster throughput at point of sale. The infrastructure in
place will now not only service the current operation, but provide the platform for improved
levels of customer-service and information at store level.

new clients which historically may have chosen a higher profile brand".

BeWise, PCPOS is forecast to sell over 8,000 systems this year.
